Kraigg Brathwaite opens new Test record

Cricket, West Indies tour of UAE 2016/17

2007 Last time West Indies won an away Test - excluding Bangladesh and Zimbabwe - against South Africa in Port Elizabeth. This was only their third such win since 2000. The other was against England at Edgbaston in 2000. They lost 56 of the 76 away Tests against top-eight teams since 2000.

1 Opening batsmen to remain not out in both innings of a Test - Kraigg Brathwaite became the first to achieve this. He carried the bat scoring unbeaten 142 in the first innings and another 60 not out in the chase.

4 Man-of-the-Match awards for Brathwaite in Tests - most by any West Indies player in the last five years. Marlon Samuels and Shane Shillingford got two such awards each in that period. Brathwaite's first three awards had come in 2014.

1988 The last time a West Indies wicketkeeper scored 40 or more in both innings of an away Test, before Shane Dowrich did it in this match - 47 and 60*. Jeff Dujon had scored 53 and 52 at Lord's before Dowrich. It is only the seventh instance for a West Indies wicketkeeper to score 40-plus in both innings.

2004 The last time a West Indies opener scored a century and a half-century in the same Test outside home against a top-eight team - Chris Gayle in Centurion. Brathwaite and Gayle are the only West Indies openers to do so in the last 25 years. Brathwaite is the first to do this against Pakistan in the UAE.

87* Sixth-wicket partnership between Brathwaite and Dowrich, the highest unbroken sixth-wicket stand for West Indies in the fourth innings of a match.

1990 The last time West Indies defeated Pakistan in an away Test, in Faisalabad by seven wickets. Pakistan had won nine and drawn two in the 11 Tests before this match.

1 Tests won by West Indies under Jason Holder's captaincy. This is the first win, coming in 12th match. They had lost eight and drew three of the first 11 Tests under Holder. He is the sixth West Indies captain to take a five-wicket haul in a Test win.
