Lions stroll to eight-wicket win

Lions 212 (McKenzie 48, Wiese 3-46) and 47 for 2 (Cook 29*) beat Titans 147 (Adams 59, Pelser 4-28) and 110 (Behardien 63, Pelser 3-16) by eight wickets
Scorecard

Lions capitalised on a poor batting performance from Titans to stroll to an eight-wicket win, their second of the tournament.

Titans won the toss and opted to bat but stumbled to 147 all out. Qaasim Adams was the only batsman to provide some resistance with 59 off 106 balls, while the second-best score was 16. Pacer Brett Pelser was the most successful bowler for Lions, taking 4 for 28 and received good support from Cliffe Deacon (3-41) and Imran Tahir (2-9).

In response, Lions could only manage 212, with most of their top and middle order failing to convert starts. Neil McKenzie struck 48 and Pelser's 35 added some useful runs to boost the side after they were struggling at 116 for 5.

Titans' efforts at saving the game collapsed in a heap after they were restricted to 110 in their second innings. Farhaan Behardien held the innings together with 63 but had little support from the other batsmen. Pelser and Deacon were again among the wickets, taking three wickets and Titans' poor batting show meant that Lions were left with a target of 46 runs, which they overhauled in 9.5 overs.
