Its only taken 23.5 overs for Afghanistan to knock off the 125 runs that they needed to win today. Since they came back from Lunch, both Ihsanullah and Shahidi played beautifully to put together a 74 run partnership. Ireland needed to attack in the field and so it meant that there was lots of gaps out there, they knew that Ireland's only chance of getting back into the game was taking wickets. So by finding the gaps, with the odd boundary or two was always going to see them home.

Ireland used their most experienced bowlers, yet with the sun beating down they couldn't find the movement that the Afghan bowlers found early on in the day. I'm sure that Ireland are regretting batting first now today, the life of a Captain eh?

Afghanistan go 2-1 up in the series and claim the series, after already winning the T20's last week its safe to say that its been a very prodictive trip to the Emerald Isle. We are just waiting for the presentation to get ready, hopefully we will be able to find out who the player of the series is.

After taking 8 wickets in the series, Rashid Khan has been named player of the series.

Its quite fitting that the series finishes here on the last day of summer. The Irish International Home season is now over. Although there are still a couple more games in the Ireland Domestic interpro series, so hopefully you will be able to join us then. Its been a great series to cover and I hope that you have enjoyed our coverage of the games, its been a real pleasure to bring them too you. Until next time this is Justin Smyth saying goodbye from Stormont.
