5.35 pm There you have it, the series is settled, all courtesy fifties from Worker, Taylor and Nicholls, followed up by a fiery bowling spell from Boult and Ferguson. The gulf in quality between both sides was apparent today, and the visitors would like to finish the series on a positive note when we meet again: on Boxing Day, for the year's final ODI. That's all from us for now. It's goodbye from Shashank, Ranjith and myself. Enjoy your Christmas!

5.33 pm Here's Tom Latham, the stand-in captain. He says: "The way Nicholls and Todd (Astle) batted, it helped us come back after a poor start. And the way Trent bowled, remarkable. Captaining in front of my home crowd is something I can't describe. Looking forward to the Boxing Day ODI. We have guys who can bowl 150 kph downhill, and having them makes my life easy."

Jason Holder, the losing captain, says: "We didn't play good cricket today. We bowled reasonably well but let ourselves down in the last ten overs. Having said that, it was a chaseable total but we didn't bat well. Ahead of Boxing Day, we need to address our batting. We need to bat better, and think of game scenarios. Look to make amends in two days. We've got a quiet team lunch planned for Christmas."

5.30 pm No surprises, Trent Boult is the Man of the Match. He says: "Little bit of movement early on, but didn't expect seven wickets. The intensity in white-ball cricket is more than Tests because the batsmen want to take you on. Gotta be sharp on your feet. Used some short balls today. It's good to play the game, and that everyone coming in and doing their jobs. Lockie's done very well, has had a great domestic season."

Scott: "And Beaton remains unbeaten."

Karthick: "Only two of the NZ bowlers able to take wickets. poor bowing performance"
