Ervine falls for 146, Zimbabwe trail by 220

Lunch New Zealand 6 for 0 (Latham 6*, Guptill 0*) & 582 for 4 decl. lead Zimbabwe 362 (Ervine 146, Moor 71, Sodhi 4-60) by 226 runs
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Craig Ervine could not prevent Zimbabwe from failing to reach the follow-on target but Kane Williamson chose not to enforce it, opting instead for New Zealand to add to their 220-run lead. Zimbabwe's last four wickets fell for 43 runs on the fourth morning, as Ervine tried to marshall the tail to hold out a little longer against a New Zealand attack that, even after 143.4 overs in the field, remained a constant threat.

This was the first day in the two-and-a-half weeks New Zealand have been in Zimbabwe that they were not greeted by clear skies. A cloud cover blocked the sun but with a chilly breeze blowing, there was a little hope of swing through the air.
