X factor for Virginia Tech down the stretch: Travon McMillian

For the Hokies to contend in the ACC Coastal Division, they'll need consistency from their running backs. McMillian had a season-high 17 carries against Boston College and could be in line for even more down the stretch.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Virginia Tech coach Justin Fuente on the Coastal Division: "I don't think there's a nickel's worth of difference right now. It's going to be a tough, hard grind for anyone to make it all the way through. It's going to be hard and could go about 1,000 different ways."

Justin Fuente said WR Cam Phillips could practice today. "We'll see how he feels and see how it goes." Phillips left last week's game with a leg injury.

David M. Hale ESPN Staff Writer

Justin Fuente said WR Sean Savoy is home with family after his brother was killed last weekend. "We'll get a plan together with what Sean wants to do in terms of returning. Sean really wants to be back with his teammates and he will be when he takes care of his responsibilities at home."

David M. Hale ESPN Staff Writer

Virginia Tech coach Justin Fuente offered thanks for the support the program has gotten for WR Sean Savoy, whose brother was shot and killed in Washington DC this week. "It's really been a fantastic example of people understanding that football is only a part of these kids' lives. ... We're here to support Sean as he goes through this."

After beating Florida State on Saturday, Miami's chances of winning the ACC have increased to 30%.
