RB Adarius Lemons leaving Gators, Dan Mullen confirms

Florida coach Dan Mullen said Monday that running back Adarius Lemons will no longer be part of the program and will sign his release.

"We wish him the best," Mullen said.

Lemons announced that he was transferring on social media Saturday night, less than an hour after the Gators' 27-16 loss to Kentucky, a game in which he did not have a carry.

In his announcement, Lemons said "I'm going to miss some of the boys I've been playing with for the past two years I've been here, I feel I've learned a lot from previous coaches that were here. I want to find a school that I can help to my best ability and actually use my talent that God blessed me with."

Lemons was among seven players suspended by Mullen for Florida's opener, a 53-6 win against Charleston Southern.

The suspensions were because the players failed to "live up to the Gator standard," a spokesman for the school said.

Lemons, who was No. 149 in the ESPN 300 when he committed in 2016, had 19 carries for 136 yards as a freshman.
