Oregon State announces arrival of QB Tristan Gebbia from Nebraska

College Football, Oregon State Beavers

Oregon State on Monday announced the arrival of quarterback Tristan Gebbia, a transfer from Nebraska.

Gebbia decided to join the Beavers last week, after learning he had lost Nebraska's quarterback competition to true freshman Adrian Martinez. An ESPN 300 recruit in the 2017 class, Gebbia redshirted last fall at Nebraska. He will sit out the 2018 season, per NCAA transfer rules, and have three years of eligibility left.

Beavers coach Jonathan Smith recruited Gebbia out of Calabasas High School near Los Angeles while Smith was the offensive coordinator at Washington. Gebbia had 3,109 passing yards and 141 touchdowns in high school. His departure from Nebraska left Martinez as the only eligible scholarship quarterback on the Huskers' roster.

Linebacker Avery Roberts also transferred to Oregon State from Nebraska, the school announced Monday.
