Texas Tech QB McLane Carter suffered high-ankle sprain

Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury said Monday that quarterback McLane Carter suffered a high-ankle sprain early in Saturday's 47-27 loss to Ole Miss. Carter was injured in the first quarter and didn't return.

"We're going to work that through the next couple games, see if he can go this week and take it from there," Kingsbury said.

True freshman Alan Bowman replaced Carter and went 29-of-49 passing for 273 yards and a touchdown.

Texas Tech plays Lamar this Saturday.
