          West Virginia's Lamonte McDougle to transfer from school

          West Virginia defensive tackle Lamonte McDougle confirmed Friday that he is transferring.

          McDougle was an ESPN freshman All-American last season after starting for the Mountaineers and recording 23 tackles, four tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

          McDougle was given his release Thursday, barring him from transferring anywhere else in the Big 12 or to one of West Virginia's future nonconference opponents.
