Interceptions help NC A&T beat Florida A&M 31-20

TALLAHASSE, Fla. -- Lamar Raynard threw for three touchdowns and North Carolina A&T cashed in on two interceptions to beat Florida A&M 31-20 on Saturday to win its seventh straight, becoming the third team in school history to start 7-0 since 1927 and 1943.

Marquell Cartwright capped the Aggies' opening drive with a 1-yard TD run, then Raynard, 20 of 30 for 215 yards with two interceptions, put NC A&T up for good, 14-7, with a 14-yard scoring pass to Jamari Smith. Raynard also connected with Xavier Griffin on a 14-yard scoring pass.

Jeremy Tarlor intercepted a pass by Florida A&M's Ryan Stanley and Raynard hit Elijah Bell on a 4-yard TD pass five plays later. Kiaundric Richardson intercepted a third-quarter pass by Stanley, leading to a field goal.

The Aggies (7-0, 4-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) outgained the Rattlers 313-277 on their Homecoming field and have beaten them six straight times in Tallahasse.

Devin Bowers gained 102 yards on 12 carries for FAMU (2-5, 1-3) and scored on 12- and 1-yard runs. Stanley, 14 of 24 for 167 yards, hit Kareem Smith on a 38-yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter.
