Grambling pounds Alcorn St. 41-14 on strength of Kincade

GRAMBLING, La. -- Devante Kincade threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score and Grambling used the second quarter to pull away from Alcorn State 41-14 on Saturday.

Kincade ran for a 17-yard touchdown early to put Grambling (6-1, 4-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) out front 7-0. Early in the second, De'Lance Turner scored on a 5-yard run to knot it at 7 before the Tigers took control.

Kincade threw a 53-yard score to Calief Samon and later found Marquise Kaigler for an 18-yard touchdown with six minutes remaining before halftime for a 21-7 lead.

Early in the fourth, the Tigers went ahead 34-7 when Dedrick Shy picked off Noah Johnson and returned it 51 yards for the score. Grambling intercepted Johnson three times on the day.

Turner led Alcorn State (5-3, 4-1) with 17 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
