Bucknell defense leads Bison past Lafayette 13-7 in OT

EASTON, Pa. -- Colin Jonov returned an interception 95 yards in overtime, one of two Bucknell pick-6s, and the Bison slipped past Lafayette 13-7 on Saturday.

It was the 600th win for the Bison (4-3, 1-1 Patriot League), making them the 19th FCS program to accomplish the feat.

Bucknell took a 7-0 lead when Drew Newcomb picked off a Sean O'Malley pass on the Leopards' first possession and raced 31 yards for the score.

Lafayette knotted the score at 7 on a 2-yard run by Selwyn Simpson with 7:50 left in the third. Simpson finished with 45 yards on 12 carries, while C.J. Amill added 48 yards on 13 carries.

O'Malley was held to 90 yards on 16-of-30 passing with two picks for Lafayette. The Leopards rushed for 96 yards after entering the game with just 64 yards on the season.

Lafayette leads the series, which began in 1883, 52-37-6. The Bison have won five of the last seven between the teams.
