Thomas with 3 picks as Wagner stops Lehigh 37-20

NEW YORK -- David Thomas had three interceptions as the Wagner defense stymied Lehigh for a 37-20 win on Saturday night.

Wagner (2-3) tied a school record with five interceptions. Thomas' three interceptions also tied a school record. He picked off his second pass on Wagner's 2 and returned it to midfield to thwart a Lehigh drive that would have given the Mountain Hawks the lead late in the first half. Kishon Banks and Malik Warner also had interceptions.

Denzel Knight broke for a 60-yard touchdown run with 3:47 left in the game to secure the win. Knight finished with 152 yards and two scores for Wagner. Ryan Fulse rushed for 103 yard with two touchdowns.

Wagner held a 17-14 advantage at the break before pulling ahead 31-20 going into the final quarter in the first meeting between these schools that are just 87 miles apart.

Troy Pelletier caught six passes for 143 yards for Lehigh (0-5).
