Sacred Heart beats St. Francis (Pa) 16-7

LORETTO, Pa. -- Ezekiel Ennis ran for a 76-yard touchdown on the first play of the game, and Sacred Heart made it stand in a 16-7 victory over St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday.

Josh Freiria kicked three field goals for Sacred Heart (4-6, 2/3 Northeast), with a long of 39. His second of the game made it 13-0 late in the second quarter.

Freddy Bopst threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Colin Hindle less than two minutes later to pull to 13-7. Freiria capped the scoring with 6:07 left in the third.

Bopst was 11-of-20 passing with one touchdown and two interceptions for St. Francis (5-5, 3-3). The Red Flash were held to 239 yards rushing and turned it over three times.

Tim Johnson and Khaamal Whitaker each had an interception for Sacred Heart and Whitaker also recovered a fumble after a botched snap. It was Whitaker's third pick of the season.
