Duncan accounts for 3 TDs and Brown tops Bryant 28-23

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Nick Duncan rushed for a pair of touchdowns and threw for one, and Brown handled Bryant 28-23 on Saturday.

Duncan had a 50-yard touchdown carry in the second quarter and added a 5-yard scamper in the third. His 7-yard scoring toss to Isaac Whitney -- Whitney's only catch of the day -- later in the third gave the Bears (1-0) an 11-point lead.

Duncan finished 14 of 27 for 152 yards through the air and rushed 10 times for 73 yards. Jealon Blandburg led Brown with seven catches for 71 yards.

Bryant (1-2) marched its first drive of the day 85 yards in 10 plays over 4 1/2 minutes and settled for Gavin Rowley's 24-yard field goal. On the ensuing kickoff, Scott Boylan busted it 95 yards for a touchdown and Brown never trailed again.

Bryant's Price Wilson went 37 of 54 for 387 yards with two touchdowns, setting single-game school marks for completions, attempts and yards.
