Rawlings throws for 4 TDs, Yale beats Lehigh 56-28

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Kurt Rawlings threw for four touchdowns, Zane Dudek ran for two scores, and Yale opened its season with a 56-28 win over Lehigh on Saturday to take the Yank Townsend Trophy from the Mountain Hawks.

Rawlings hit Melvin Rouse II on a 37-yard TD pass on the Bulldogs' opening drive, and later found him for a 31-yard TD pass in the third quarter to make it 34-21. Rawlings was 20 of 26 for 308 yards passing, with a 43-yard TD pass to Christopher Williams-Lopez and an 11-yarder to JP Shohfi.

The Bulldogs converted two turnovers into scores and broke the game open on Rawlings' TD pass to Shohfi after Ryan Burke recovered Brad Mayes' fumble on the Lehigh 25.

Dudek rushed for 131 yards on nine carries, scoring on a 69-yard run for the Bulldogs in the third and on a 29-yarder in the fourth.

Mayes was 18 of 31 for 304 yards passing for Lehigh, which lost its third straight. He hit Casey on a 66-yard scoring strike in the third and Jorge Portorreal on a 53-yarder in the fourth.
