Sanders return TD helps SE Missouri beat Austin Peay 41-21

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Cameron Sanders returned a kickoff 93 yards to squelch an Austin Peay comeback as Southeast Missouri grabbed a 41-21 victory on Saturday to keep the Governors winless.

Austin Peay's Kentel Williams skirted the sideline for a 68-yard touchdown run to close to 24-14 with 4:54 left in the third. Sanders responded by taking the ensuing kickoff back for the score. Will Young added a 7-yard scoring run with 1:52 left in the third for a 38-14 lead.

Young, who rushed for 100 yards or more four times this season, finished with 154 yards on 16 carries. Tremane McCullough added 92 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns. Jesse Hosket threw for 230 yards and one score for Southeast Missouri (3-5, 3-2 Ohio Valley Conference).

JaVaughn Craig, who scored two touchdowns, ran for 126 yards and threw for another 90 for Austin Peay (0-8, 0-6).
