Bryant beats Central Connecticut 45-25

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Dalton Easton threw two touchdowns and ran for a third as Bryant took an early lead and held it to defeat Central Connecticut 45-25 on Saturday.

Easton was 22 of 32 for 272 yards passing for the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-0 Northeast Conference). Hunter Taute ran for two scores and Ryan Black rushed for 128 yards.

Easton, Taute and Jean Constant each ran for touchdowns in the first half and Easton threw a 17-yard strike to Keenan Thompson for a 28-3 Bryant advantage at halftime.

Last week, Bryant saw a 21-0 first-quarter lead evaporate as Brown rallied to score 28 consecutive points and beat the Bulldogs 35-27 at home.

This time, Bryant built on its early success as Taute ran for another score and Ricky Perez kicked a 38-yard field goal to make it 38-11 at the end of the third.

Jacob Dolegala threw two touchdowns for the Blue Devils (1-3, 0-1).
