HAMPTON, Va. -- Yahkee Johnson ran for 112 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown run that proved to be the winner, and Hampton beat Savannah State 28-24 on Saturday.

Savannah State (3-5, 3-3) responded with a seven-play, 63-yard drive capped by T.J. Bell's 4-yard TD run that made it 21-10 at halftime and sparked a 21-0 run by the Tigers.

A 1-yard scoring run by Nicholas Bentley with 9:09 left in the third quarter and, after Stefen Banks' strip-sack of Jaylian Williamson, Marcus Lee Jr.'s fumble recovery in the end zone gave Savannah State a 24-21 lead early in the fourth quarter.
