Calvert throws for 4 TDs, Liberty beats Robert Morris 41-7

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Stephen Calvert, in his first start, threw for 340 yards and four touchdowns to lead Liberty to a dominating 41-7 victory over Robert Morris on Saturday night.

Calvert had the most passing yards in a game by a Liberty freshman.

Dante' Shells pulled in six catches for 170 yards and one score and Marquis Fitzgerald grabbed four passes for 82 yards. Liberty (2-3) rushed 30 times, picking up only 72 yards.

Robert Morris (1-4) struck first when Andrew Romanchak passed to Blake Skuratowicz from the 2 for the Colonials only lead. Calvert and the Flames took it from there, scoring 41 unanswered points. Calvert hit Shells on a 69-yard scoring strike for a 21-7 lead at the half.

Solomon McGinty intercepted Romanchak on the second play of the third quarter, returning it 33 yards for a score. Alex Probert added field goals of 47 yards and a career-best 52-yarder.
