Tabary has career high, McNeese St. beats NW State 48-27

NATCHITOCHES, La. -- James Tabary threw for a career-high 384 yards and three touchdowns to lead McNeese State to a 48-27 win over Northwestern State in Southland Conference action on Saturday night.

Tabary, who finished with 29 completions on 43 attempts, had 209 yards and two scores at the break.

Kent Shelby grabbed seven passes for 85 yards and one score and Justin Pratt rushed for a career-high 124 yards and one touchdown on just nine carries.

The Cowboys (4-4, 3-3), who had lost two straight, took control in the second half to break a 21-21 tie, scoring 17 unanswered points. Northwestern State (1-6, 0-5) remains winless in conference play.

Pratt broke for a 47-yard touchdown run with 6:56 to go in the third and less than three minutes later Tabary hit Kylon Highshaw on a 6-yard scoring play for a 38-21 lead.

Brooks Haack led Northwestern, throwing for 241 yards and one score.
