Bagley's 189 yard, 2 TD day spurs Chattanooga over VMI

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Richardre Bagley ran for 189 yards and two scores, including a 45-yard game-sealing dash in the 4th quarter, and Chattanooga beat VMI 30-13 on Saturday.

Alejandro Bennifield added 224 yards and a touchdown through the air for the Mocs (7-1, 5-1 Southern Conference), who bounced back from their first defeat of the season last week against The Citadel.

Chattanooga piled up 519 yards of total offense and held the ball for over 37 minutes.

Chattanooga led 17-0 at the half, courtesy of two Bennifield scores, one throwing and one rushing. VMI battled back in the third, cutting its deficit to 23-13 after an Al Cobb 79-yard TD strike to Javeon Lara, followed by a Cobb 1-yard touchdown run.

But Bagley drove in the final stake, ripping off a 45-yard run on a single-play drive that took just 11 seconds.

Cobb threw for 238 yards for VMI (3-4, 1-3). Lara had 79 yards receiving.
