Stetson rallies past turnover-plagued Brown 31-21

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Cole Mazza rushed for two touchdowns and Gaven DeFilippo added another as Stetson won its first game ever played against an Ivy League team, beating Brown 31-21 after a shutout second half on Saturday.

The Hatters (3-2) forced six turnovers as they overcame Brown's quick 14-0 lead. DeFilippo raced 69 yards for a score and Mazza followed with a run from the 4 as Stetson tied the game 14-14 midway through the opening quarter. Mazza added a 25-yard TD.

Grant Amick broke a 21-21 halftime tie with his 29-yard field goal to open the second half, and DeFilippo iced it with a 9-yard pass to Donald Parham.

Kyle Moreno passed for 83 yards with a touchdown and an interception, but was replaced by Thomas Linta, who was intercepted on each of Brown's last two drives. The Bears (1-3) also lost three fumbles.

David Moodie and Alexander Jette scored rushing TDs for Brown.
