Cooper's 2 TDs leads Rhode Island beats Brown 28-13

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Harold Cooper ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns to help Rhode Island pull away and beat Brown 28-13 on Saturday.

William Twyman picked off Jordan Vazzano's pass and returned it 30 yards into the end zone to give Brown (1-2) a 13-7 halftime lead.

The Bears fumbled the ball during their first series of the second half, and Momodou Mbye recovered it deep in Brown territory. Sean Anderson then bullied in from the 3-yard line three plays later to give Rhode Island (1-4) a 14-13 lead.

Cooper added 36 and 42-yard scoring runs on consecutive drives midway through the fourth quarter. He finished with 135 yards on 18 carries.

Kyle Moreno threw an 8-yard TD pass to Alexander Jette to cap an 11-play, 54-yard opening drive for the Bears. The Rams answered later in the quarter when Vazzano tossed a 10-yard scoring throw to Charlie McKeeman.
