Murray, Montana State run over Montana 24-17

MISSOULA, Mont. -- Freshman quarterback Chris Murray ran for two touchdowns and Montana State rolled up 370 yards on the ground to upset rival Montana 24-17 on Saturday in the 116th Brawl of the Wild.

Murray scored on a wild flip into the end zone in the first quarter to opening the scoring and raced for a 48-yard for a touchdown in the seconds to put the Bobcats (4-7, 2-6 Big Sky) up 14-7.

Montana State controlled the ball for much of the first half, picking up 173 yard on 36 carries while the Grizzlies (6-5, 3-5)) had just 19 plays. Brady Gustafson and Justin Calhoun hooked up on a 58-yard touchdown that tied the game at 7.

On MSU's first snap of the second half Gunnar Brekke broke free for a 65-yard run that lead to Chad Newell's 1-yard plunge. Nick LeSane had a 61-yard burst, setting up another Newell score to make it 24-7.
