Coastal Carolina cruises to 42-7 win over Liberty

CONWAY, S.C. -- De'Angelo Henderson rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns, and Coastal Carolina scored the first 28 points in a 42-7 victory over Liberty on Thursday night.

Henderson scored from 3, 1 and 2 yards out.

Osharmar Abercrombie added a short TD run in the second quarter and on Liberty's next possession, Alex Scearce had a strip sack and Marcus Williamson recovered it for a TD and a 28-0 lead. The Chanticleers have eight defensive touchdowns on the season -- with five from Scearce.

Coastal Carolina (9-2) starter Tyler Keane was injured in the first half and replaced by Tyler Chadwick, who completed 6 of 9 passes for 71 yards.

Stephen Calvert went 19 of 31 for 223 yards and one touchdown for Liberty (6-5).

Coastal Carolina stopped Liberty on downs on its first two possessions of the second half. After the first stop, Henderson scored his third touchdown to cap a 39-yard drive.
