CONWAY, S.C. -- Kilton Anderson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another, Torrance Marable accounted for three touchdowns and Coastal Carolina shut out UAB in the second half for a 47-24 victory on Saturday night.

The Chanticleers (1-1) have won eight straight home openers.

Anderson was 11 of 18 for 167 yards passing. Marcus Outlow ran for 140 yards and two touchdowns, and Marable added another 80 yards on the ground and two touchdowns for Coastal Carolina.

A.J. Erdely, Kendall Parham, and Kingston Davis had touchdown runs for UAB.

Parham took a pitch to the left sideline, cut back inside to elude several defenders and ran 64 yards into the right corner of the endzone, and the Blazers led 21-7 early in the second quarter.

Anderson connected with Marable on a 29-yard touchdown pass, and Anderson ran for a 26-yard score to tie it at 21. Anderson threw another touchdown pass, and Marble had two scoring runs in the fourth quarter.
