World Rapid Championship: Anand beats Carlsen

RIYAD (Saudi Arabia) -- Former world champion Viswanathan Anand beat world No. 1 Magnus Carlsen of Norway in the ninth round of the World Rapid Championship.

Anand, who lost the 2013 World Championship to Carlsen, won in 34 moves.

The Indian is unbeaten at the World Rapid Championship with five wins and four draws. He leads the tournament along with Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) and Wang Hao (China).
