Anthony Joshua weighed in almost two stone heavier than opponent Alexander Povetkin ahead of Saturday's fight at Wembley Stadium.

Joshua, the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion, weighed in at 17st 8lbs 5oz (246 pounds). Challenger Povetkin was significantly lighter at 15st 12lbs (222 pounds).

Joshua is also heavier than he was in March ahead of his fight against Joseph Parker. At 17st 4lbs 2oz (242 pounds), that was the lightest Joshua had been for 10 fights.

In the buildup to Saturday's fight, Joshua has talked about how he trained with cruiserweights to prepare for Povetkin's smaller build.

"He's one of the lightest heavyweights but that means he has speed," Joshua said on Thursday. "I spar cruiserweights like Lawrence Okolie, who is fast and sharp. I work alongside people who have the same strengths."
