Former featherweight world champion Prince Naseem Hamed believes Chris Eubank Jr. should retire after his defeat to George Groves on Saturday night.

Groves defended his title for a second time, using his experience to outsmart Eubank and come out ahead 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113 on the scorecards at the Manchester Arena.

"Which camera can I look into to tell Chris Eubank Jr. to finish because I don't want to see him hurt any more," Hamed said post-fight in ITV's commentary studio.

"I hate to say this, but the fact is he is not at this level and he is not as good as he has been saying he is. That is the be all and end all of Chris Eubank Jr. He is not going to win unbelievable things.

"Lets talk reality. Is this guy a world-beater? No, he is not. Two years, three years he still won't be a world-beater. The guy is not good enough.

"I thought he was going to win on points because I thought his heart, determination, his work-rate. I thought that would pull him through. It didn't because he doesn't have the ability.

"You are either good at boxing or you are not. His dad has been saying he is unbelievable, that he is going to shock the world. Reality is tonight and reality hits home hard."

Hamed, who retired in 2002 after a 37-fight career, also wasn't impressed by victor Groves either.

"George Groves made so many mistakes tonight and is so beatable'" Hamed said. "The fact is he showed his weaknesses tonight and I couldn't believe the way he boxed too. I was disappointed in the performance of both of them.

"He was the bigger man. Who was marching forward all night? Chris Eubank Jr. He was missing but who was dictating the pace of the fight all night."

Groves is set to face either England's Callum Smith (23-0, 17 KOs) or Germany's Juergen Braehmer (49-3, 35 KOs), who fight in the other WBSS semifinal on February 24.
