Lee Selby pleads with Josh Warrington 'leave me alone'

Lee Selby has pleaded with his IBF mandatory challenger Josh Warrington to leave him alone after being repeatedly called out.

Selby (25-1, 9 KOs), the current IBF featherweight world champion, is scheduled to fight Eduardo Ramirez on Dec. 9 at the Copper Box in London before moving on to face Warrington in 2018.

However, despite Warrington's repeated call-outs, the IBF champion is fully focused on finishing this year on a high before moving on to bigger fights.

"No, no messages," Selby responded when asked if he has a reply for Warrington's call-outs. "To be honest, I think he's sort of obsessed with me.

"He keeps mentioning my name, even during his last fight, his father was mentioning my name.

"Leave me alone, give me a break. I'll see you when I see you in the ring.

"There are some big fights looming but my sole focus is on Saturday night and then I can start looking towards these big fights."

Selby was looking to make a fourth defence of his title against Ramirez but his Mexican opponent has come in overweight meaning the IBF world title will not be on the line.

The fight itself is still scheduled to go ahead, despite Ramirez's unplanned absence at the Dec. 7 press conference.
