Johnny Manziel throws at San Diego pro day

NFL teams watched Johnny Manziel throw for the first time since 2015 as the quarterback took part in the University of San Diego's pro day on Thursday.

The 2014 first-round pick, who has been training with QB guru George Whitfield Jr., agreed to take part in San Diego's pro day because the team didn't have a quarterback available to attend, and it put Manziel in front of NFL scouts who were in attendance.

Scouts from 13 NFL teams were on hand to watch Manziel, including the Bears, Browns, Chargers, Giants, Chiefs, Jets, Patriots, Raiders, Titans, Lions, Jaguars, Panthers and Buccaneers. Manziel was also weighed, and per school officials, he came in at 200 pounds.

In his six games starting for the Cleveland Browns, Manziel went 2-4, throwing for 1,500 yards and seven touchdowns. The Browns released Manziel in March 2016, after a tumultuous offseason that Manziel described as "self-sabotage mode."
