Rumor Central: Aaron Brooks heading to the Timberwolves?

Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations and head coach Tom Thibodeau needs to bring in some help at point guard, and apparently a deal for one should be finalized soon.

According to Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, free-agent guard Aaron Brooks is expected to sign a contract with the Wolves. The deal is likely for one season at the veteran minimum. Zgoda notes this may be Thibodeau's only signing ahead of the start of training camp.

Brooks, 32, spent the 2016-17 season with the Indiana Pacers and he averaged 5.0 points, 1.9 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 65 appearances.

Minnesota's point-guard depth chart will now include Jeff Teague, Tyus Jones, Brooks and undrafted rookie Melo Trimble. Trimble is a long shot to make the regular-season opening-night roster.
