Rumor Central: Gary Harris not focused on extension negotiations

Earlier this week, the Denver Nuggets finalized a three-year, $41 million deal with center Mason Plumlee. Now that Plumlee's situation has been resolved, the Nuggets will shift their focus to signing guard Gary Harris to an extension, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. When asked about the extension negotiations, Harris said he's just concentrating on his preparations for the start of training camp in the coming days.

"No, [it's not on my mind]," Harris told BSN Denver. "I'm just ready to get ready for camp, ready to get rolling, especially with the squad we have -- it's going to be a fun year."

The Nuggets have until Oct. 16 to complete an extension with Harris. If nothing gets done, Harris will be a restricted free agent in 2018.

Harris, a first-round pick in 2014, averaged 14.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 57 games (56 starts) last season. He also shot 50.2 percent from the floor, including 42 percent on 3-point attempts.
