According to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders, the Denver Nuggets are set to sign forward Josh Childress to a non-guaranteed, minimum contract for the 2017-18 NBA season.

Rumor CentralChildress, the No. 6 selection in the 2004 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks, last played in the NBA during the 2013-14 season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Childress made just four appearances with the Pelicans and played a total of 24 minutes.

This summer, Childress played for the Ball Hogs in the BIG3 league.

Childress, 34, will have a hard time making the team when the regular season roster is set on Oct. 16 as he is currently the only player without a guaranteed salary for 2017-18. Fourteen players have full salary protection, and that will increase to 15 when free-agent big man Mason Plumlee signs his contract.
