Rumor Central: Trade speculation doesn't bother Portland's Moe Harkless

Carmelo Anthony's uncertain future has been one of the top NBA stories this offseason, and it will likely continue until the 14-year NBA veteran is traded or resolves his situation with the New York Knicks.

At this time, Anthony will waive his no-trade restriction only for a deal sending him to the Houston Rockets. Even though the Portland Trail Blazers are not an acceptable destination, guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have publicly campaigned for Anthony to accept a deal to the Northwest. Whether the Blazers could convince Anthony to accept a trade, or are part of a multiteam deal sending him to the Rockets, forward Moe Harkless could be a player leaving Portland for the Knicks. Harkless says the trade speculation doesn't worry him.

"It doesn't do anything for me to get involved with that," Harkless told the New York Daily News. "If it happens, it happens."

Harkless, from Queens, struggled during the 2014-15 season with the Orlando Magic and welcomed the trade to Portland. During his two years with the Trail Blazers, Harkless has improved his overall game, and in 2016-17, he averaged 10 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

"In Orlando, we were kind of rebuilding. Coach [Jacque Vaughn] got fired and everything like that," Harkless said. "In Portland, the system was already in place and the organization is run really well. So I'm in a comfortable situation for me."

Harkless is on the books for $10.16 million this coming season and is guaranteed a total of $31 million through 2019-20.
