          AP Prep Football Poll: Week 7

          MADISON, Wisc. -- Waunakee and Lodi continue to lead area teams in this week’s The Associated Press football polls.

          The defending Division 2 state champion, Waunakee (7-0) remained ranked No. 2 in the Large Schools’ Division (enrollment 900 and higher) after it defeated Reedsburg 45-14 last week.

          The Warriors have a 21-game winning streak dating back to last season and have outscored their opponents 346-34 (49.4-4.9 average) with four running clocks this season.

          Fond du Lac (7-0) was a unanimous choice at No. 1, receiving all 10 first-place votes.

          Monona Grove (7-0) dropped one spot to eighth-place in the Large Schools’ Division. Sun Prairie (6-1) received honorable mention.

          Lodi (7-0) received five of 10 first-place votes to remain atop the Medium Schools’ poll (enrollments between 301 and 899 students).

          The Blue Devils, the defending Division 4 state champions, extended their winning streak to 21 games with a 10-8 victory over Columbus last week. Mount Horeb/Barneveld (6-1) and McFarland (7-0) tied for ninth-place in the poll.

          Defending Division 6 state champion Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs (7-0) remained a unanimous selection at No. 1 in the Small Schools’ Division (300 and smaller), receiving all 10 first-place votes.

          The poll includes first-place votes in parentheses, season record and total points, as voted upon by a statewide panel of sports writers. Teams are arranged in three divisions of equal size based on current enrollments.
