Jaden Nix, Madison La Follette High School

Year: Senior.

Sports: Football, basketball, baseball, golf.

Sports highlights: Jaden is in his third varsity season in football and is a returning letterwinner and two-year starter at defensive back and wide receiver. A co-captain as a senior, he had caught 11 passes for 110 yards and one touchdown through five games. He earned All-Big Eight Conference honorable mention honors as a defensive back as a junior, finishing with 40 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. He also had five catches for 100 yards.

He lettered in basketball as a guard as a junior. He played baseball for two years as a shortstop and outfielder, earning a letter as a sophomore. He switched to the golf team his junior year.

Cumulative GPA: 3.1.

Favorite subject/class: History.

I got my start in sports: My family has always been sports fanatics.

I wish I could play: Hockey.

My most memorable moments in sports: My ‘brother’ Julian Patton’s 213 yards, four rushing touchdowns performance against Sun Prairie in the 2016 WIAA Division 1 playoffs; Making it to regionals in Little League baseball.

I like about high school sports: The atmosphere of every game and finally playing the varsity sports you watched growing up as a kid.

I enjoy playing football because: There is no better high school sport atmosphere than a Friday night football game.

Advice: “If you really want to make it somewhere, you have to work for it. You can’t expect it to fall into your lap.”

My role models are: My older brother, Julian, my mom, Jamie, and my uncle, Danny.

Most inspirational teammate: William Paulson.

My family includes: My grandma Deb, aunt Megan, uncle Danny, mom, jamie, uncle Jeremy, aunt Shannon, and cousins, Julian, who is like a brother to me, Jace, Jilly and Teran.
