Last month, Detroit Lions receiver Golden Tate honored The Rock with his People's Elbow celebration following a touchdown against New Orleans.
Now, the relationship is going to another level: A bet.
Tate, who went to Notre Dame, challenged The Rock, who played football at Miami, to a "friendly wager" on Saturday night's Notre Dame-Miami game.
I'm down my Golden friend. Don't take the ass whuppin' personal. It's just business. ๐ Gonna be a great game. Our boys will play hard. Here we go.. #TheU ๐๐พ https://t.co/TdbWmS4GYS

Deal. ๐๐พ@NDFootball wins, I'll wear a #23 jersey in honor of the Golden One. @univmiami wins, you'll rock #94 in honor of the People's Champ. After the loss, look on the brightside brotha..

you'll finally wear colors of a champion. #TheU ๐๐พ https://t.co/L97h6ugHDn
The evidence of the bet will end up on social media, too. Tate predicted a Notre Dame win earlier this week to ESPN.
Tate never faced Miami in college, and Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) never faced Notre Dame. Both missed playing in the rivalry by a year.
