Here are some quick takeaways from the pair of late-afternoon contests:

• The battle between 8-9 seeds Seton Hall and NC State wasn’t an upset, but more people actually picked the lower-seeded No. 9 Wolfpack (52 percent) over the No. 8 Pirates.

• Seton Hall will face No. 1 Kansas next. Some 46 percent of brackets predicted that matchup, but only 4 percent picked the Pirates to upset the Jayhawks.

• After beating No. 12 South Dakota State, No. 5 Ohio State will face No. 4 Gonzaga on Saturday. That matchup was predicted in 71 percent of brackets, with 80 percent favoring the Zags to take down the Buckeyes on their way to the Sweet 16.
