The Cleveland Browns will be signing a receiver at 4 p.m who had a career year with 1,000 yards in 2016, but his name isn't Terrelle Pryor. Kenny Britt will leave the Los Angeles Rams to join the Browns for a four-year deal, according to ESPN"s Adam Caplan.

Britt had his best season in 2016, with 68 catches for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns. It took until his eighth season for him to reach 1,000 yards, though. If Pryor stays, he and Britt figure to be the starting tandem -- and would provide a pair of tall receivers for whoever starts at quarterback. If Pryor leaves, Britt figures to step into the lead role at wideout.

Terms: Expected to be a four-year deal worth $32 million, per Caplan.

ESPN 150 ranking: 19th.

Grade C: ESPN considered Britt among the top 20 free agents on the market. However, for the Browns this is basically treading water. A 27-year-old receiver who just topped 1,000 yards leaves, a 28-year-old receiver who just barely topped 1,000 yards arrives. One goes out, one comes in. Britt is solid, it just doesn't take the team forward if Pryor leaves. It's also a little tough to see a guy who took eight years to break 1,000 yards as a significant upgrade -- even if he was the first Rams receiver to hit that mark since 2007 (Torry Holt).

What it means: The similarity in numbers between Pryor and Britt is startling. Pryor had 77 receptions, 1,007 yards and four TDs. Britt had 68 catches for 1,002 yards and five TDs. Pryor still could return, which would give the Browns a legitimate tall tandem, something Hue Jackson wants. (Britt is 6-foot-3, Pryor 6-5). That would be a good thing; the Browns needed another receiver to go with their young group, with or without Pryor. But Britt on his own with the holdover rookies from last season still leaves the team lacking at an important position. The key to this signing is what else happens at the position.

What’s the risk: Britt was targeted 110 times in 2016. He caught 69 passes. That's 62 percent. He ranked 102nd in the league in percentage of targets caught. It's all relative when it comes to the Browns, though. According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Browns have had seven receivers targeted at least 100 times in the past 10 seasons. The highest catch percentage from that group: Pryor last season, at 57 percent.
