One of the Chicago Bears' offseason priorities is to find more weapons for quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Entering Week 15, the Bears don’t have a single wide receiver with 50 catches -- Kendall Wright leads the group with 43.

To remedy the situation, ESPN NFL draft analyst Todd McShay has the Bears taking Alabama receiver Calvin Ridley at No. 8 overall in his 2018 Mock Draft 1.0.

Ridley (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) is an accomplished three-year starter for the Crimson Tide who had 55 catches for 896 yards and three touchdowns in this year’s college football regular season.

Ridley, however, put up much better numbers the previous two seasons -- he had a career-high 89 catches for 1,045 yards in 2015.

The Bears have to address wide receiver, so projecting Ridley in Round 1 makes sense.

Bears general manager Ryan Pace hasn’t had much success finding the right receiver. Kevin White, the seventh overall pick in 2015, has played in only four regular-season games and is a long shot to ever contribute in Chicago. Wide receiver Daniel Braverman, a 2016 seventh-round pick, is no longer on the team.

Pace also brought in veteran free-agent wideout Markus Wheaton -- paying him $6 million guaranteed in 2016 -- who’s caught a paltry one pass for nine yards.

The Bears have also waived goodbye to high-profile receivers Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall since Pace took over three years ago.

The team will draft/sign a wide receiver in the offseason -- that's a foregone conclusion. But will it choose the right one? Time will tell.
