Big 12 Week 13 picks: Oklahoma, TCU look to punch tickets to Arlington

play
Iowa State 'growing immensely' from Big 12 success (3:19)

Cyclones head coach Matt Campbell shares how important the team's wins against Oklahoma and TCU have been for the program. (3:19)

Here are the Big 12 picks for Week 13 from ESPN reporters Jake Trotter and Sam Khan Jr. (all times ET). Visit our college football PickCenter page for additional information on these games and many more.

Baylor at TCU (Noon Friday, FS1)

Trotter: Only two FBS defenses have allowed fewer than 10 points in six different games: Alabama and TCU. This TCU defense is for real, and it will propel the Frogs to Arlington. -- TCU 34, Baylor 9

Khan: Only the Bears stand in the way of TCU's rematch with Oklahoma. After a solid road win without their starting quarterback last week and Kenny Hill "probable" to return to the lineup, the Horned Frogs will take care of business and punch their ticket to the title game. -- TCU 34, Baylor 17

Texas Tech at Texas (8 p.m. Friday, Fox)

Trotter: Texas will ride on to a bowl on a surge. Texas Tech will be left questioning the state of its program, having missed out on a bowl for the third time in four years. -- Texas 28, Texas Tech 10

Khan: Two teams headed in seemingly different directions. Texas has won three of their past four; Texas Tech has lost five of its last six and the Red Raiders' only conference wins are against Kansas and Baylor. -- Texas 31, Texas Tech 14

Kansas at Oklahoma State (Noon Saturday, FS1)

Trotter: Mason Rudolph and James Washington will cap their fabulous -- if title-less -- careers in Stillwater with an easy win on senior day. -- Oklahoma State 42, Kansas 17

Khan: The Cowboys fell short of their high preseason expectations, taking a third conference loss to Kansas State last week, but the talent advantage here is too much, assuming they don't completely sleepwalk. -- Oklahoma State 45, Kansas 13

Iowa State at Kansas State (3:30 p.m. Saturday, ESPN2)

Trotter: Farmageddon, baby! Iowa State is still aiming to tie its school record for wins in a season. K-State is looking for a better bowl spot after the big upset in Stillwater. Budding freshman QB Skylar Thompson gives the Wildcats plenty to look forward to. But Iowa State’s hard-nosed defense will carry the Cyclones, avenging the collapse during their last trip to Manhattan. -- Iowa State 20, Kansas State 17

Khan: Thompson gives the Wildcats some reason for optimism after a stellar performance at Oklahoma State. If he can have an encore, K-State takes this one. -- Kansas State 27, Iowa State 24

West Virginia at Oklahoma (3:45 p.m. Saturday, ESPN)

Trotter: What a week of drama in Norman. In the end, Baker Mayfield will get a huge ovation when he finally gets into the game, and the world will go back to normal as the Sooners will move on to the Big 12 title game. -- Oklahoma 38, West Virginia 13

Khan: While everyone might spend this week talking about Mayfield, it will matter little when the teams hit the field. Aside from his brief absence from the starting lineup, he'll more than make up for it with his play the rest of the way and keep the Sooners' playoff chances intact. -- Oklahoma 42, West Virginia 27
