Big 12 Week 8 picks: Oklahoma schools face tough road tilts

Here are the Week 8 Big 12 picks from my colleague Sam Kahn Jr. and I (all times ET). Visit our college football PickCenter page for additional information on these games and many more.

Oklahoma State at Texas, noon (ABC/WatchESPN)

Khan: After an off week and a sizable win over Baylor, the Cowboys' offense is back on track. Oklahoma State 40, Texas 31.

Trotter: Texas is getting better, and the Longhorns have a lot to be excited about in the future with quarterback Sam Ehlinger. But for Oklahoma State, the future is now. And no receiver duo in college football has been better than James Washington and Marcell Ateman, who each have produced 100 yards receiving in the Cowboys' past four games. Oklahoma State 34, Texas 27.

Iowa State at Texas Tech, noon (FS1)

Khan: The Red Raiders let one slip away last week in Morgantown and coach Kliff Kingsbury isn't going to let them forget what Iowa State did to them last season. They'll redeem themselves here. Texas Tech 45, Iowa State 38.

Trotter: Iowa State is not all that far away from being 6-0 right now. The Cyclones are a legit bowl team. But so too are the Red Raiders, who will get off the mat after falling apart in the fourth quarter last weekend. Texas Tech 33, Iowa State 21.

Oklahoma at Kansas State, 4 p.m. (FOX)

Khan: No post-Red River victory hangover for the Sooners here. They'll take care of business in the Little Apple. Oklahoma 38, Kansas State 17.

Trotter: K-State can't score. Oklahoma 35, Kansas State 11.

Kansas at TCU, 8 p.m. (FOX)

Khan: The Jayhawks have played the Horned Frogs well the past two years, but this is a better TCU team. TCU 48, Kansas 10.

Trotter: Well, at least the Jayhawks will get to play in front of a nationally televised audience. TCU 49, Kansas 3.

West Virginia at Baylor, 8 p.m.

Khan: West Virginia's defense (111th in yards per play, 80th in scoring) might make this closer than some would think, but the Mountaineers still have the firepower needed to get the road win. West Virginia 48, Baylor 35.

Trotter: This has all the makings of a trap game for the Mountaineers, who are coming off an emotional comeback against Texas Tech and have a massive showdown in Morgantown next weekend against Oklahoma State. Baylor won't notch its first win here. But this will have West Virginia fans sweating. West Virginia 44, Baylor 38.

Trotter: 35-10
