Louisville (4-3, 1-3) at Florida State (2-3, 2-2), noon, ESPN

David Hale: The perfect fix for a struggling Florida State offense is the dismal Louisville defense. James Blackman has made some nice strides in each of the past two games, and this week the Seminoles will actually look like a functional unit. FSU 28, Louisville 24

Andrea Adelson: Lamar Jackson will make some plays, but the Cards have shown they don't have much in the way of reliable help surrounding him. With the memory of what happened last season, Florida State will find a way to win. FSU 24, Louisville 21

Pitt (2-5, 0-3) at Duke (4-3, 1-3), 12:20 p.m., ACC Network

David Hale: After a fast start, Duke has dropped three straight. Does that make this a must-win? Perhaps that’s strong, but if the Blue Devils can’t get by the spiraling Panthers, that 4-0 start to the year might not be enough to end the season in a bowl game. Duke 31, Pitt 20

Andrea Adelson: Pitt has won six of its past seven in the series, and four straight at Duke. Both teams are struggling right now, but with the Duke passing game losing its rhythm, watch for the Panthers to pull the upset. Pitt 24, Duke 23

Boston College (3-4, 1-3) at Virginia (5-1, 2-0), 12:30 p.m., ACC Network

David Hale: Raise your hand if you predicted Virginia would be bowl-eligible before the end of October? What a terrific overhaul Bronco Mendenhall did this offseason. Virginia 20, Boston College 10

Andrea Adelson: I thought Virginia was one year away from this type of season, so kudos to Mendenhall and his players. But I think A.J. Dillon will make bowl eligibility take a little bit longer for the Cavaliers. Boston College 23, Virginia 20

Syracuse (4-3, 2-1) at No. 8 Miami (5-0, 3-0), 3:30 p.m., ESPN

David Hale: Two big questions here: Can Syracuse match the emotional energy it had last week against Clemson? And is Miami healthy enough to keep winning? I’m more confident in the latter than the former. Miami 30, Syracuse 24

Andrea Adelson: Syracuse is 0-7 all-time against AP Top 10-ranked Miami teams and has won multiple games over AP Top 10 opponents just once, in 1959. Eric Dungey and the offense will be able to make some plays, but watch out Travis Homer to make some big plays. Miami 28, Syracuse 20

North Carolina (1-6, 0-4) at No. 14 Virginia Tech (5-1, 1-1), 3:30 p.m., ESPN2

David Hale: At least there won’t be a hurricane to blame for the Hokies' win this year. Virginia Tech 35, North Carolina 10

Andrea Adelson: Not many folks are talking about the Hokies as a College Football Playoff contender, but they shouldn't be ignored. Virginia Tech comes off its bye to start a stretch run with a victory over the struggling and injury-depleted Tar Heels. Virginia Tech 38, North Carolina 17

Wake Forest (4-2, 1-2) at Georgia Tech (3-2, 2-1), 7:30 p.m., ESPNU

David Hale: Wake’s defense is equipped to slow the option, and Georgia Tech is coming off a physical game against Miami. Moreover, there’s a good case to be made that Wake’s John Wolford will be the best downfield passer Tech has faced this year. Wake Forest 27, Georgia Tech 24

Andrea Adelson: Georgia Tech is two plays away from being 5-0. The Jackets are still a good team with an offense that has dominated for large chunks of games. This one won't be easy, especially if KirVonte Benson is limited, but watch for TaQuon Marshall to be the difference-maker. Georgia Tech 30, Wake Forest 23
