Great Britain's Andrew Pozzi claimed a thrilling gold in the 60 metres hurdles at the World Indoor Championships and set his sights on sustained global domination.

The 25-year-old, co-captain of the squad, claimed victory in a season's best of 7.46 seconds to beat American Jarret Eaton by one-hundredth of a second.

Pozzi, who has overcome serious injury problems, added the title to his European Indoor gold which he won in Belgrade 12 months ago.

"I honestly believe I have everything it takes to be the best hurdler in the world and I wouldn't have stuck it out if I didn't genuinely believe that," he said, as Great Britain won six medals at the championships.

"And I'm on the right track now so it's just about keeping on the right track to Tokyo."

The hosts' 4x400m women's relay squad also claimed a bronze medal after they were promoted to the podium.

Jamaica, who came second, were disqualified for changing positions on the changeover allowing Great Britain to claim a medal.

Meghan Beesley, Hannah Williams, Amy Allcock and Zoey Clark had run three minutes 29.38 seconds, a season's best.

However, it was the U.S. quartet of Quanera Hayes, Georganne Moline, Shakima Wimbley and Courtney Okolo who ran the race in a championship record of 3:23.85 seconds to pick up the gold. Poland won silver.

In the men's edition of 4x400m race, Poland ran a remarkable time of 3:01.77 to record a new world indoor record.

The Polish squad -- consisting of Karol Zalewski, Rafal Omelko, Lukasz Krawczuk and Jakub Krzewina -- beat America's Fred Kerley, Michael Cherry, Aldrich Bailey Jr. and Vernon Norwood for the top prize, despite USA also running their season's best time of 3:01.97 seconds.

Elsewhere, Ethiopia's Samuel Tefera claimed gold in the men's 1500m with a time of 3:58.19, beating Marcian Lewandowski and Abedelaati Iguider who finished second and third.

Serbia's Ivana Spanovic claimed gold in the women's long jump with a 6.96m mark, beating America's Brittney Reese for the top spot who secured the silver medal with a jump of 6.89m.
